You need DS4 controller to be connected to the PC and the remote play to on in playstation settings. After that just use remote play app which is completely accessible. Long time ago, I got some sighted assistance to help trying a lot of things to get it working. But those people weren't technical enough to help with all I wanted to try. No, I'm not talking about cracking the ps4, jalebrake etc.There are so many people world wide who want the TTS which is released in the US only so badly. I am personally not asking for an updated TTS. Not either a TTS in my own language. The only thing i'm asking for so badly is simply the TTS which works in the US, which just reads the game library, so blind gamers are able to launch the game they wanna play. That's all, nothing more. But, Sony does not care. Not at all. I have been in contact with Sony US which wouldn't talk with me because I'm not from the US. I have been in contact with Sony in my own country, which do not wanna talk about the TTS, because that's not released in my country. So if blind gamers want the TTS outside the US, we need to find our own solution. We need to figure out why the heck it won't work. But this is extremely difficult when I need sighted assistance to do all the geeky stuff I wanna try to see if it's possible to get it working.Regarding the chip: Sony hasn't confirmed that for sure, and they properly won't say anything about it. The reason for asking for a source on that info about chips is because there's a very big difference between there being some kind of hardware that generates the text to speech solution, and the text to speech solution looking for the presence of some hardware to validate whether it should run. The former is permanent, the latter can be patched out. But the sad truth is, unless something's shifted in Sony's position, we probably won't be seeing that any time soon. The only reason that the TTS came into the ps4 was because of the new law in the US a while back stating that communications portions of entertainment systems had to comply with accessibility standards, as I understand it. Could be wrong, however. But I believe that's why the TTS was initialy only designed to work in the party and message screens, and why it's only available in NA. There's no other explanation I think is reasonable to infer, considering it hasn't been updated in almost 5 years. But again, maybe I'm wrong. Different topic of discussion. But the very fact that naughty dog had to explicitly design their own tts engine for the game is such a sad state of afairs. This is the sort of thing that *must* be standardized, not done on a game by game or company by company basis. If there are any hopes I have for the ps5, it's that first, the tts will be localized to as many other countries as possible, and that secondly, a similar API to microsoft's will be made available for devs to add tts into their games. The best way to do accessibility in my opinion is if the dev doesn't even have to think or worry about it too much because it's already there from the start, like when you code an app for ios using native controls. It just works with vo, no questions asked, all the dev must do is label their controls correctly. So it does not work if you buy a none US console and set the language and region to US. Just be aware that your games will be listed horizontal with most recently played first. I do not think that changing your region will give you tts.
