Hi everyone, sorry its been so long since I've last posted. However I need to let you all know the problem I've now got. I still have no Internet access via computer, but what's even worse, is that the computer I was using to write my games, has now crashed. The power supply I think he's gone down because it will no longer start, however I am hoping that at some point I'll be able to get the code off of the drive, and I'll work on it with a new computer that I will be getting soon. If you have  any comments, or if you saw the original that I made, of the elementals tournament please post here, I will let you know however when I am ready to upload the elementals tournament, I will be posting a brand-new topic here so I won't be posting links to it in this one. Hi everyone, i'm Nina0116. And I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, but I've had computer problems of late, since last May and they still haven't been resolved. I have however finished the elementals tournament game, and as soon as I can get computer Internet access, I will be re-downloading the programs I need inward alter sound files I have from.wav, to .ogg.  I will be uploading the new game, as soon as I can get these files, and the other sound effect files that I need to make. Hay Nina0116, I think I found a bug, but Im not sure.when I buy the side laizars, the game says upgraded side laizars to lv 1, but when I buy the second upgrade, the game still says upgraded side laizars to lv 1.Also, for some reason, the scope upgrade has disappeared from the shop after lv 5.Ill try going until lv 11 and see what happens.Also, their doesnt seem to be a stat for the side laizars anywhere, could this be the reason for the bug?

the side lasers allow you to shoot in directions perpendicular to the one you are facing. For example, if you ar facing north, you will also shoot east, and west. The nuclear bomb will destroy all walls on the map.

The side lasers will trigger every time you fire, as long az you have purched one of these upgrades. I just realized I forget to program in the key to trigger the nuclear bomb. Ill get on that soon, but I dont think this will be up for a few days.

Okay, Ive just finished my game thanks to the final boss being fixed, but I found a few bugs.Boss rush mode just says thanks for playing when selected.The ending song needs to be shorter; Ill see about that.It seems that my pc; at least; seems to take a lot my resources during story sequences than in the main game.Speaking of story sequences, the one before marys first boss fight doesnt play.Are the wave versions of knock and transport no longer being used?If so, they should be removed from the sounds directory.readbeard is now playable, but it seems that the monster strength always resets everytime a new wave starts.I think you might have made the armor boost a little cheaper than what is listed?If you start a new game or load one from the new story mode and then go back to marys story without exiting the game, the sound of the monsters taking damage is still the one from the new mode.I
 ;ll check it again, but the hitt monster sound doesnt seem to play.Ill post more feedback, as soon as I have some to post...

The song that plays durning the ending of marrys story is a full fleged song. If it is to long for a player, they can press the escape key to skip the rest. Ill look into the problem with boss rush mode, and erease the wav files from the sounds directory. Thanks threeblacknoises.

The scope upgrades appear to not be costing me any points for some reason, or Im not getting a message to say that I cant buy them yet or anything. Also is there a way to complete the wax phantom boss without losing a ridiculous number of lives? My attempt cost me 7.

threeblacknoises: thanks for the suggestions. Believe it or not, but some of the upgrades already exist in the second story mode, not all of them of course. I will fix the problem with red beard, and the funland robot, and will add some of the suggestions to the game. Thanks again.

Hay all, sorry for double posting, but youll see why shortly.Nina0116, I have found a game braking bug in candy crashers that needs to be addressed asap!Its the second issue in the following report.The funland robot is bugged.If you lose a card by getting attacked, you cant pick it up again.Even if you pick up a card, its sound still plays.After losing a card, all other cards start over, but you cant get the final one you need to finished the fight.After collecting cards, you can exit and restart the battle and collect cards and they will count from where you left off.The final battle is quite impossible to finish.Instead of raising the stats of all of the other monsters, the game is actually raising Redbeards stats, so it is quite impossible to damage him.My attack is 346 on turn 1, and his defence is 345.After I defeat the 4 eboneser Krabs that appear, his defence is 348
 .I did notice a weird cutsceen stat in Redbeards status screen, does this effect anything?Im perfectly fine with his attack going up, but whatever calculates his defence at the start of the battle should be run everytime his turn starts, or something to insure his defence allways stays 1 les than the plaiers attack.On a lighter note; I finally thought of a few things that could happen once level 20 is cleared.First, a new item could be added to the shop that would let Marys lazar shots attack a few squares on her right and left as well as straight ahead.For example, she fires east, but at maximum, the upgrade would effect all squares east of her, as well as 4 squares on either side for a much shorter distance as well.an item could also be added that would let her zip along a straight path in whatever direction she is facing until she either:A. runs out of moves.B. hits an obstical.This would help with cle
 aring vary large maps.Finally, an upgrade to her lazar would allow her to take shots without ending her turn.This could be implemented simply by adding a move cost to her lazar.It could start out costing something like 400 or so moves, so as to not effect the early levels of the game.After level 20, however, it could be lowered to 60 moves, and an upgrade could then be bought in the shop that could lower this to a minimum of; say; 25.I realise this move cost is a little high, so you could allways just add in some kind of value that decreases and cap it at a max of 9.This could also help reduce the clear time of large levels.I also think that bombs should have a move cost, just like hitting a wall or monster does.I also think that big bombs are way over powered.In the early stages of the game, they work okay; as the maps are vary small, but being able to clear 195 squares of walls with just one action is a little much.Maybe 
 they could also be upgradeable like everything else is?Say, start out with them being able to clear 20 squares and then; for a cost of somewhere around 1,000 or so, add 10 squares to a big bombs effect range.This would also up the movement cost as well.Start it out costing 3 moves to set off one of those bad boys, and ad 1 move per 20 squares of effect.Id also consider cutting the price of all current items in the shop in half, and removing access to the movement and lazar range upgrades until after level 5.You could then add new items with higher price points, and plaiers could still have enough points to buy what they wanted.Stat caps should also be set.Attack and defence should have a max of 300 or so, movement 100, and lazar range 30 or so.Instead of allowing big bombs to be upgraded, you could simply add a super bomb to the shop that does what the current big bomb does for a vary high price.Extra lives could also
  be added, along with hp upgrades.

threeblacknoises, the first 2 items are not bugs, the game is designed not to save after a boss battle, and I didnt give any boss music an intro file, so I didnt program the game to look for one. About the cards though, I need a little more information. What option are you pressing enter on?

Hay I found some bugs.The game doesnt save after a boss battle.If I put an intro in the intro folder for the boss levels, it doesnt play.The game doesnt seem to want me to hit enimies that are facing the diagonal directions, EG north/east.When looking at my cards, the game brings up a blank one if I press enter one that spot.

Im sorry about this, but it is only possible to map one modifier key for each function. For example, you can not map both left and right control f for find. This is do to the way I had to do the keys class. Im trying to thank of away to allow both left and modifier keys at once, but I havent come up with an answer yet. Also Ill update the readme file. Hi,if you set your speech mode to your screen reader, save the settings and close the game and open it again, the menues will be spoken by your chosen screen reader. At least its that way for me using NVDA.I have a few other problems though.First, when I attack a monster, the game doesnt say how much damage I dealt, though it tells me how much damage I took when I get attacked.Second, I wanted to change the game keys in the game. But how can you map a function to something like shift+f for example? It doesn work, the game only registers the letter and not the shift key.Speaking of game keys, the readme is kind of wrong now, since the numpad keys or the arrow keys dont work anymore, only the letter keys do, for walking and turning etc. Thats why Id like to change the keys myself, but I have the problem with combining keys I just described.Best regardsTikki

Hi everyone. Sorry that this taking as long as it is. Most of the new content is finished. So I think I can reveal it, the newest content I have added, and still adding, is a second story mode. In this story you play as a different character, through a hole different set of levels, and with there own way of fighting. The only thing I need to finish with this is the cut scenes, and I have had writers block for the last week. I promase I will get these done as soon as I can. Also I havent heard how any one else is doing in the game. I need to know, are there any bugs I need to crush, is there anything that you dont understand about the story, (if I can get these scenes done that sould not be a problem), has any one finished the game, and is any one playing the survival mode. Hi afsilva90. I cant tell you how to defeat any specific monster in Candy Crashers, mostly because I dont know whitch mode yur playing, or what level you are on. However I can give you some tips. First use the exploration keys mentioned in the readme file to find the monster you are having trouble with. Next press shift pluss s, this will bring up the monsters status screen. Arrow through the list to find the monsters defence rating. If there defence is less then double your attack rating, then check witch direction they are facing, and go to the square that is behind them. Face the same direction the monster is, and shoot. If their defence is more than double your attack, then you will need more attack power before you will be able to take them down. In order to turn your character hold down either control key, and press one of the explore keys. These keys are: I or numpad8
  for north, o or numpad9 for northeast, l or numpad6 for east, period or numpad3 for southeast, comma or numpad2 for south, m or numpad1 for southwest, j or numpad4 for west, and finally u or numpad7 for norwest. This is the default settings for exploring, though you will be able to change these keys in the next update. hope all goes well.nina0116

Hi every one. Sorry I havent been around for the last week or so, I have been having a lot of trouble getting the user defined keys to work. I think I have it now, but it will still be a while before I will be able to release an update for Candy Crashers.Threeblacknoises: Thanks for the new files. I forget to say this when I released the last update, but the monster cards are based on 26 of the villains in the Scooby Doo Show. I have nearly finished with all of the new content I hinted at last time. When that is finished, and weather or not I can get the defining of custom keys to work, I will be releasing the final large update. Hi everyone. Ok I have fixed the sound bug in the second boss fight, I wish I and given my code a little more though at that point. I think I have fixed the non saving of the speech settings, but well all have to wait until the next update. For I will not be able to post an update this week. That is because I am working the last big chunk of content that I planed on adding. This will take me a while, so I will try to get it up by Friday, but dont be supprised if I am unable to do so. Also I would lie to hear if you have anything you would like to see in the game. No is the time to suggest it, for after we get this new content to work, and make sure there are no bugs, I will be finished with Candy Crashers, and going back to work on Elemental Tourniment. Hi,thanks for looking into the settings thing.Now I was finally able to beat the second boss, yay! I had a strange thing in this boss level however. For some reason I didnt hear footsteps through the whole stage. Everything else worked great, just that it made no sound when I moved. That was a bit weird for playing, but since the level worked fine otherwise it worked well enough. In the next level after the black knight the footsteps were back as normal.Just thought Id mention this. It was kind of funny actually, because it felt a bit like I was flying through the stage or something.

Hi everyone. The next update is here. I took the time to remove all the old files just to see if that was interfearing with the download. I have not been able to complete my key assignments like I wanted, but this version should work with the keys. At least I hope it does. If not I have an idea on how to fix it. Other than that not much is different in this update. I have not yet looked in to the problem with the mod files, but Ill do that before the next upload. Hi everyone. Sorry Ive been out of touch for so long. I am now working on a way for each player to assign there own keys to each action in the game, but this will take some time. So I wont be able to upload an update for a few days. For those having problems with the game not speaking the names of monsters, and or treats, I have hard coded the information into the story mode. For the survival mode (where the mods are necessary) I ask that you wait for the next update, I hope to have this problem fixed with it. Yikes!I just erased my folder where I stored the candy crasher game, so that I could download the new version. and after I extracted the game and ran it, I dont hear the monster names any more. Was this meant as a patch to be installed over the existing version, or can I use it as a clean installation?

I have no update for you, but I can respond to your posts.whocrazy: level 23 plays the song singing mountain from the game chrono trigger.stewie: try deleting the game program and unzipping it again. I just tested this, and the keys work for me. I have no other idea why theyre not working for you.bigdog: Ill look into this. Thanks for bringing this to my attension.whocrazy: Yikes! that is something I never tested. Ill get that fixed at once. As for the game not saying monsters any more, do you still have the Creatures.txt file in the default folder inside the mods folder. If so let me know, and Ill find a way to makesure the names show up again. At least in story mode.

I just redownloaded the file from sendspace and extracted it to an entirely new folder. The u i o j l n m , keys still move my character, home, end, insert and delete dont either. Shift or control plus the keys does nothing.

Yes. theres candy.txt, creatures.txt and a file called key.dat.When I start the game in story mode, and something attacks you. it says ... attacks you instead of saying monster name attacks you and when using the explore keys, when you point on a monster, it says 100 health instead of saying for example, Headless horseman 100 health.

Hi everyone. I have just uploaded candy crashers version 2.5. The link is in the first post as alwayse. In this version, I have changed the keys for moving diaganaly, as well as the explore keys. Now you use the arrow keys to move north, east, south, or west. To move northwest you now need to press the insert key. Be a little patient with this key, it seems slow. To move northeast you need to press home. To move southeast you need to press end, and to move southwest you need to press delete. You can now look around the map not only with the numpad (if you have one), but can now use the following keys. Press I to explore north, press o to explore northeast, press l to explore east, press period to explore southeast, press comma to explore south, press m to explore southwest, press j to explore west, and press u to explore northwest. By holding down the left or right control key when pressing one of these keys, you sh
 ould turn to face that direction. Let me know if this helps. Now I have some new content to announce, well sort of. It is now possible to create your own monsters, and treats for use in survival mode. Include in this update is a program called ccmm.exe I have written instructions on how to use the mod maker in the readme file, so I will not reproduce it here. For those bord with the default sounds in the game, this allows you to change every monsters sounds when attacking, taking damage, and dieing. At least I hope it works, I am not able to get any other sounds to test this out with, so I am not sure if it works yet. You are limited to only 26 treats at the moment, and you can only change a treats name. However I plan on change this in the future. As alwayse I welcome any comments, sujestions, or problems for me to fix. The next update will be a while in coming, unless there is a problem I need to f
 ix with game. I have only 1 big batch of content planned, and when that is finished and all problems are fixed, I will be going back to work on elementals. Thanks everyone.nina0116

ok i noticed that when starting a game on novice i attacked an enemy on the first level and did 0 damage to him. I think he had 5 defense. Also when loading a save file after dying or if i even start a new game the values of enemies defense and attack seem to stay the same as when i died meaning that if i get to level 6 it saved tohose values when I start a new game whilest resetting my stats back to one so i can do nothing to kill these guys.

I found a bug which crashes the game when all monsters are cleared. after you have killed the last monster, press shift-s and youll hear the name of the first monster that you have killed when you started the leveland the game will crash. I dont mean it brings up an error, it ... just freezes with the music still playing.

Hi everyone. Well its here, candy crashers version 2.0. First off, Im so sorry about the second boss fight. It seems I forget to place the switches in there squares, although I placed the sounds there. Also I have added the ability to change the background music volume while in menus, as well the game. Speaking of menus, I have now (finally) made it possible to use your screen reader in all menus. Be sure to set your speech settings with the option in the start menu, aspecially the speech_delay. I have added some keys to look around the map with what I call the explore curser. The keys are noted in the readme file. CutScenes will now wait until you press the enter key after one of the characters speaks, before it continues. It now possible to skip through the cutScenes dialog by repeating pressing the enter key. As for new content. Every monster now carries a collecters card. Much like the go
 blin card in entombed. Once yu have collected a card, you will be able to view it, and any other cards you collect from the start menu. These cards contain information about that monster that you (might) find interesting. I am not done adding new content, but I wanted to get this out so you all could see what is beyond level 10. Those cards I spoak of will be important when I add the biggest section of content I have in mind. Also as I say in the readme file, I am working on a mod maker program that will allow you to play survival mode with your own monsters, and own treats. I have the update, however the exploration keys dont seem to be working. Shift plus the keys still is moving my character.
