Phil,
Although in theory the SB3 should sound the same (or better) than my
Monarchy as a transport, to my ears it doesn't.
I have tested this to death. The more I listen, the more I hear the
Monarchy is better. For example, during the bridge of Learning to Fly

If I may weigh in with my experiences on Linux and cdparanoia.
As I understand it a lot of the best rippers on Mac and PC are based
ultimately on what was cdparanoia.
The ripper I use is kaudiocreator which in turns uses cdparanoia. Using
this very popular ripping engine I get identical rips on

According to http://www.lovanusa.com/dealers.php
We currently do not have Lovan distributors in Canada. However you can
order directly from us. Retail dealer pricing are the same for both US
and Canada.

Yes, but then you might end up with not very good response in and below
the crossover region -- if DRC's target stops at 75Hz, anything below
this (by the sub) won't be very well corrected. DRC works best at low
frequencies...

Oh and I suspect my bonus this month is going to go on an SB+ not a TP,
not least because it's the only one I can do my own listening tests on

Darren,
If you're willing to form your own conclusions, you might consider
putting your source components on an inexpensive diy powerconditioner.

Given the low power draw of your source components, you could even

Thanks for the link.
I am using one of these currently (I am in the UK):

Don't know if it's similar but it has a choke and capacitors. Let me
know your opinion by all means. I haven't spent any more on power
conditioning,
Darren,
Sorry, the Krell threw me off, and I assumed you were Stateside. From
the enlarged picture of your conditioner, its using a common mode
choke, as does mine, but beyond that, I can't definatively comment. Its
choke is a smaller size physically than I use, but I don't know its core
I got my DA-10 from Vintage King Audio in Detroit. I don't think they
had a restocking fee, but that was six months ago and I couldn't state
absolutely. However, that's irrelevant to me as my unit is a keeper.

Just curious about your experience with the X-DAC..
I just bought the X-DACv3 plus the X-PSUv3...I hooked it up to the SB3
and thought the new setup had better detail (a bit dry) and soundstage
BUT the bass was a bit on the thin side.
Comments? Thinking that maybe cause the units were still not
Comments concerning the Behringer Pro DEQ 2496?
