tried it together with the toslink removal, think it still meets the
spdif spec as long as the other end has a 75 ohm bnc connector.

standard to base the balance of the system around.

don't mean to offend anyone, but 2 is the default setting, the fact
3200 or 4000 sounds better in your system is highlighting that there is
an imbalance there, likely that the bass is not being articulated
correctly and needs emphasis which the lower values give.

what SBGK is trying to do here.
I would say the most essential mod is to replace the power supply,
either ~£200 for a linear PS or go the battery route ala Soundcheck
which should be a lot cheaper.

some watchdog pids are killed at the start, what
happens after that only Soundcheck knows. at the end we are still left
with watchdog pid 13, with the much sought after and mysterious sonic
changes.
It's a strange thing to get hung up on, there are more important
processes.

when it comes to longer listening sessions?
I am finding it is getting better and better, likely to highlight
deficiencies in your system or the recording than be the cause of
fatiguing sound. am certainly enjoying my music again.
