Plus dBpoweramp has a great user forum if you ever need any help with
great support from the development team. Plus dBPoweramp runs on MacOS
and Windows.
I think it's worth the very low cost.

I agree with you on the Touch, it does not switch off its audio circuit
when you put it in standby. The Transporter is different. It does switch
off the audio circuit when you put it in standby, it just seems it
switch it on (and off) every so often. I'm just wondering if there is
anything to do
I recently bought a Transporter from eBay and really like it. I was
using a Touch and decided to upgrade 1) my speakers use AES as their
digital input 2) it looks cooler :-)
My speakers go into standby mode when they can not detect a signal on
their AES input. So when I switch the Transporter
I'm currently using a Touch with a pair of digital monitors and a
digital subwoofer. Has anyone done comparisons of the sound quality of
the digital outputs of the Touch and the Transporter?
Thanks and regards,
Nicholas
The Genelec speakers are really professional monitors, hence the low WAF
design. But I think this also makes them an excellent value because they
sell in a very competitive market when (I assume) there is little room
for audiophile voodoo ;-)
I would also argue they are less user friendly than
I actually like that they look utilitarian. I also wonder about people
who talk the getting the absolute sound but seem more worried owning
speakers that look like high-end furniture or components made for
aircraft grade billets of aluminium ;-)
If music is the most important thing wouldn't it
I'm looking to buy a new stereo and want to go all digital as far as
possible. All my music is ripped form CDs and served via a Touch and a
Duet.
I'm thinking to connecting the Touch to a pair of these: -

The 8260A Smart Active Monitor (SAM™) is a
that plagues all
analogue designs regardless of price or pedigree.
It sounds like it would work well with a Squeezebox, as it is a DAC,
pre-amp and power amp all in one.

I would take a look at dbpoweramp. It is sooo much easier to use than
EAC.

AVSFORUM). You only notice the issue if the music on the first track on
the CD starts at zero seconds. I also think they are not very well
build and look cheap.
