I noticed that Event actually shows distortion figures in percent for
the whole speaker system and not just the amplifier. Also, the figures
are better than I'd have expected. But why the 3rd harmonic?

Just a heads-up that the AVI DM10 will be available soon.
As for me, I'm happy with my DM5s, and I could never afford the DM10 at
current (yen) exchange rates anyway :-(

Have you ever considered Nubert speakers? Their new nuPro line is very
good. I'vr got a pair of nuPro a200 herr, and they handle everything I
throw at them. If you need more you can always get the a300 or even add
a subwoofer, though I don't think you'll need it.
They come with several input
I use KEF's a300 digital speakers driven from a Mac Pro desktop. Great
speaker.. Along side my other active speakers

If bookshelf speakers have a built in DAC, the cool thing would be for

I do have Meridian speakers but this is a part of complete digital home
theater which is another beast, that they are the only provider off .
