George, I don't know about ancestors; however, my mother-in-law talked about having someone in the family that had one blue and one brown eye.    Her mother was born in Rosario, Lagoa, Sao Miguel; her father in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel and her mother-in-law in Lomba da Santa Barbara, Sao Miguel.
