I searched through the 1883 passports out of S. Miguel and did not find
your Caetano or his parents, sorry. If he exit the island in 1885 the
records are not posted on the cca site,

No. There are a lot of Furtado's and when I have time, I'm going to make the
connection. I've been getting close with the help of Rick Pimentel, but it's
been a process for me and because of work.
I just got connected to my cousin from Ribeira Grande on FB and thrilled. I

It is so puzzling because I can’t find his or my grandmother on any of the
ship lists. I can only think that the names were different on the ships.
Well I’ll keep trying and see what I come up with.

Maria do Espirito Santo FURTADO, I found the following listing on the
S. S. Dona Maria, sailing from Sao Miguel, Azores on 30 March 1901 and
arriving in the Port of New York 12 April 1901:

I have been trying for some time to connect my Great Grandmother
(Jennie Solomon Silva) to her family.
She was born in 1856(Sao Jorge), arrived in 1869 to Rhode Island, she
married in 1875 Manuel Ignacio Borba in Rhode Island. They migrated
to Northern California and settled in
I, too, have my great grandfather, Antone Joseph (AJ) (da)SILVA from
Sao Jorge.
João Ventura helped me locate this family through of a letter sent by
AJ Silva's brother-in-law.
The CCA baptism record reads: António, son of António José de Quadros
and his wife Maria Silveira, both native
