There is no main airport. There are 3 airports you can fly into from
North America: Ponta Delgada (PDL), Lages (it's also an American Air Force
base on Terceira) (TER), and Horta on Faial (I don't know that airport
code). From any of those airports you can get to any other

I am not sure exactly which discussion group this should post at. My
question was somewhat two fold. Is it difficult to trace roots back to
main Portugal? Did the majority of immigrants go to Azores at a
certain time?
