Eric, Thank you, have taken the Family Finder test at FTDNA. Have 3rd, 4th 5th cousins, no 1st or 2nd. Have contacted any who have names or ancestral surnames that sound Portuguese, but no info on Velma. Guess we need a bigger base, more folks testing to break these brick walls. Dave On

I was in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on the 1940 census living with Aunt Birdie Hughes and Olga Hughes, my grandmother. In 1935 Los Angeles I must still have been with Velma and Joe Hughes. In trying to find out why they were in Arizona in 1935 I contacted a person who collected playbills from Phoenix.
