You are most likely correct, Frank did come over on a whaler. You might try
the Whaling Museum in New Bedford next time you are in the area. To try and
research Faial records looking for a Francis/Francisco b. abt. 1840 with
parents Joseph Francis and Antonia but without a
I thought this is him but it says he was from US??? There is more than 1
Frank Williams in the area and I think, of these, one was a mariner and one
was a farmer and one settled in Wellfleet (mariner) and one in Lakeville
(farmer). Since several used the Williams surname could their surname have
Shervoy is on the list. But the postings from this person have 2 Re: in
them, so it breaks the thread. They get caught in the queue so I need to
repost them. It's always best to leave the subject alone, just hit reply,

Maybe you should scan the record and send it to the list (attach it to your
email).
It's been many years, but if I remember correctly, Danielle Steel is a
quarter Portuguese. She had someone come from England (surname Stone) and I
think the records in the Azores named the descendants
Give me the name of the bride and the name of the groom and I can probably
find their marriage record for you.

George Williams 35 mariner b. Fayal, W.I. (no parents listed) and Hannah
Higgins 25 married in Wellfleet MA Nov. 10, 1854 by George Denham,
Cleryman. Actual record is listed on www.familysearch.org
This one will be difficult as no parents are listed on marriage record. I
I notice on Ancestry there is a George Williams and Hannah Higgins family
tree (Clark). I found Hannah and her 2 sons on 1860 census. I also found
George Williams in 1860 census b. Portugal living with another Williams
family in Wellfleet MA. Did they separate or divorce? I also found George
