List or Manifest of Alien passenger etc.

Correct me, I believe I read somewhere that when WWII began, the United
States limited the number of persons it accepted into this country. This was
because of the masses that were trying to leave Europe.

Whoops, I meant to type WWI. I didn't look at the passaportes in the WWII
period. I was using the ones from the 1890s-1920s. At the back of some of
the books, they wrote how many people total to each destination. The books
during the WWI time period were much smaller and less people

I have question, and I am not sure if anyone has come across this. My
Grandfather came to the United States in 1920. He arrived at the port of
Providence R.I. on 09/28/1920 and it shows he travel from R.I to Merced CA.

on the 4th of Aug. and then went on to Prov. RI. May Aunt Jessie said that
they were held in the harbor in RI for 3 days because someone was ill and
