unless a sibling married in a different freguesia and you find them there.

Maria,
The marriage records before 1708 for Santa Barbara are lost.
The birth records for Santa Barbara between 1662 and 1666 are missing too.
It seems that Sebastião was born c. 1664, so you won't find him.
There's a child named Belchior born to Manuel de Resendes and Isabel Velho

Manoel, did you mean the records for Espirito Santo before 1708 were lost
not Santa Barbara? Maria look in Santa Barbara for a marriage. Erica just
found a marriage for our George Moreno in Santa Barbara in 1691 2 of their
children were baptized in Espirito do Santo, Santa Maria.

Oh dear! I was afraid to even ASK if the records were lost. I didn't want to
even entertain such a thought. NO
So, I will look again in Santa Barbara where Sebastiaom was baptized. I hope
when the priest guessed how old he was when he died that the priest made a
mistake and
oops! Thank you Pam.
Sorry, my mistake, I meant Santo Espirito, nor Santa Barbara.
A lapsus calami!

According to RR, Manuel de Resendes (or Manuel de Sousa de Resendes)
Manoel-- my heart skipped a beat when I realized what I was reading. You just
gave me the name of Sebastiaom's parents! Wow! Did RR have access to these
records before they were lost? If so, What a major blessing that these records
were recorded in his book before the records were lost.
Maria,

pages on the baptsm book for this time period were lost.
You won´t find him, I think.

Suzanne,
Many, many people are busy, but like to help. So to get the most out of
your post (and to save time on your hands) post the link. People are more
likely to click on ONE link than to navigate to the record. And you hope
that they navigate to the RIGHT record.

Thank you is such a small response to the mounds of information you have

will spend many an hour pouring through your three hours of work.

Theresa,
Amazing. I know how hard it is to read these records. For starters I would
be interested in Captain Manoel de Sousa de Figueiredo and Dona Isabel de

who were the parents of Joam Soares de Figueiredo. I have Joam's marriage
record 20 May 1708. Joam married Maria de Braga, father
