Hi Joy,
Glad you found something. What was your island for the baptism of your
Joao? The district archive of Angra covers all 9 of the Azores islands.
Also, there's no place called "Lagoas" on Pico. There's no place called
"Lagoas" at all in the Azores. There's a Lagoa, but that's over on the

Does it say if he is married or widowed?
Can anyone make out how old it says he is?
I see the date as May 1774, but can't
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out if there's another "a" or if it's bleed
through. I tried to look at the image on the back page. Then I'm focusing
on the faded letters. It seems like it could be M^a ag^te (or a) or Maria
Goularte. Hope Sean knows who he was married to!

Listowner,
Widower of Margareta something. Or Maria Augusta. He's a bit fancy.
I think Manuel was 85.
I think it says "des" in there for 10 of May.
Let others chime in too. They may see something different.

Hmm, now I think he was 88. Not sure if I can get Goularte out of the
deceased wife's name, though. We need more eyes!!!

Well, my information came from you! The Fraga line. My great grandfather was
António Carvalho Noia. Number 9 on your genealogy list. He married Maria Nunes.
They lived in Oakley,CA.
I Am still unclear how the Noia names comes in to play. I don’t see who
brought the Noia name into the mix.
Cliff N; Where do your Fragas come from? Mine are from Sao Jorge.

I think Cheri is right about the age, 88. For the spouse I see "V.o de M.a
G.te" which I believe is widower of Maria Goularte.

I have a Contra Costa County Noia families master file. I have every Noia
line mapped.
Send me specific information, and I'll look them up.

Hi JR,
I never found any records of Manuel having a daughter, but she is on the
Citem site listed with no parents. I believe you have her marriage date
wrong though as this record is from 1774 and you have her marriage in 1785.
Can you see the correct year?
On Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 6:22:13
Okay you are right. It seems I transposed the year from another file, but
at this point I don't know where the date came from. So 1785 is incorrect
for sure. However, I do have that Antonio de Souto married Antonia Maria,
Feb 19- 1786. He was viuva de Maria Gularte.
Flores, Santa cruz
