Francisca Nunes da Silva arrived on the Penninsular from Fayal to New

destination is aunt Rita Aurelia at 215 N Front St New Bedford
There is a stamp on that document showing the verification of Entry

Carmen,
I see the page. That shows her residence as Bandeiras, but the daughters
birthplace isn't more specific than Pico. I took a look around the other
towns in Madelena concelho, but could find anyone close to Francis or her
parents.

The message you just sent to the azores group seems to imply there are
filters for the FTDNA database. Are the filters to just see the azores
group available to Family Finder. If so, where?

I'm trying to figure out who to test. I have several double cousins in the

Hello
I am waiting for my results from the Family Finder to come back. Can I join
the Azores DNA Group on Family Tree DNA or is that for just Y and MT DNA
participants only?

Doreen CJ,
Yes, FTDNA says that the Family Finder goes back 5 generations. But it's
more like 200 years back from the birth of the testee.
Having the same people in your DNA make up will mess up the prediction.
Shirley Allegre and I are cousins 12? different ways - something like
that. Because
Hi Tish/Dennis,
Log into Tish's DNA page. On the blue navigation bar across the top, point
at Family Finder. From the drop down menu, pick Advanced Matching.
Once that opens, you have options. You can pick the Family Finder test and
the Azores DNA project only and run it that way.

Hi Doreen,
This is part of what I posted last week
I then realized that there was a way to sort out the two sides
of the family by doing another family finder test. What I needed to do was
test one of my dad's 1st cousins. This was a big challenge. As my dad is 93

Hi Richard,Your logic is sound, but I don't know if it really matters. The reason is that there is no telling how much DNA any one person gets. Just like you are not going to get the same DNA as all your siblings. So the answer, I think, is test them all. The more, the merrier. One thing that seems
I wish I could test them all but when I decide who to test and what test
needs to be taken I try and get the biggest bang for my buck. It is going to
be interesting to see what the results are going to be when the FF on my
dad's cousin comes in. I am thinking of doing a FF on myself and compare it
Since I did my sons, with not many matches. I would do the oldest person
possibly since its 200 years back. Meaning I should have test my ex
husbands grandmother who is 94 yrs old instead of my son. Then possibly
more matches that would confirm what my paper trail does.

Hi Cheri, Rick and Pam,I just had an idea that could greatly help us with Azores ancestry in regards this Family Finder test.Next chance you get, talk to the owner of FTDNA and try to convince him to make a new option. It would be great to compare anyone else who has tested with the Chromosome
