Thank you Doug.
30 years ago, when I last met Antonio during a visit he made to my childhood
home in Livermore, he used the double L. I know he was a fairly prominent
researcher, yet I can't seem to even locate publications he may have written,
to help learn of his whereabouts.

I looked at my information and it only showed my maternal line in my
tree. I know that I put in both sides, dad and mom's lines.
Guess I will see if I can find the upload location again

Hi Tim,You might be talking about Antonio Ornelas Mendes who coauthored books with Jorge Forjaz.I have one in front of me called Genealogias das Quatro Ilhas and he's the second author listed. If he is this one, I am almost certain he's from Terceira.Since I don't have the Terceira volumes they

Been playing!
I need to redo my gedcom. And my mom's. I guess I didn't use ASCII
characters in the names (had noticed it before) so names like José end up
looking like José (If that even shows up here in email...!) It would be
difficult to match similar names in other trees.

Eric,
I know you’re scrupulous, but I just want to be sure about the death
identities for the following reasons:
These two deaths are a major find because it means my great grandmother,
Filomena b. 1851, cannot be their daughter, yet I have constructed my
descendants around this assumption.
Mary B,
Yes, keep on playing and making a list of things. You got double first
names and I got the middle name dropped.
As a beta tester, I reported the José showing up as José. I sent it to
them both as ANSI and ANSEL. Just add it to your list of things that you
found with the trees

Hi,
I understand having private for living persons, but it seems that ftDNA has
criteria saying if there is no date of death, make the person private.
This makes no sense, as it makes it impossible to view more than half of
the trees.
