Yes, the name is Travassos not Travalos (I don't think that's a name). The double "s" has had its evolution over time (not only in Portuguese, but in English as well). Here is an example of the spelling of "Congress" from the U.S. Constitution. Yes, they spelled it correctly - C-o-n-g-r-e-s-s.
