father of Antonio Gonçalves is other Antonio Gonçalves Caldeira and no João.

About the obit of Antonio Gonçalves Caldeira in 1697, there is another
Antonio Gonçalves Caldeira married in 1653 in Biscoitos. The died is
widower and 70 years old. It's useful to find the batism of Antonio around
1627 (+/-5 years) and, particulary the obit of his wife : Beatriz Gonçalves
(m. 1654) or Catarina Gonçalves (m. 1653).

On the 6th day of November 1697 __ died Antonio Goncalves Caldeira widowed
parishioner of this parish of Apostolic Sao Pedro located das Biscoitos his
age 70 years more or less ___ this evening __ Novena ___  and 20 Masses?

Sorrry. I don't know the english version of tecnics words like "missa
rezada", "oficio perfeito".
"In perpetuum" is like " até fim do mundo" : until the end of the world.
"avinculada" : like a "vinculo" which is a legal form of donation to pay
the price of the low mass (missa rezada, i find it) and others "legados".
"terça" : is the part of his inheritance that the person who make a wil can
decide as he want. The other part is divided beetween the children in equal
part, or beetween the wife (or husband) who live (50%) and the children
(50%).
"esmola" is the life annuity provided, in this case, by the houses where
was living (cazas em que morava). Then, the brotherhoods (confrarias)
received the houses in inheritance to pay the low mass (each year in
perpettum), 20 low masses and one "oficio" only once.
