Hello folks. I'm a newbie to backupPC. I believe i'm very close to having it

-backupPC installed just fine - used apt-get install method, Ubuntu machine
with new updates
-backupPC is running (the status page shows the PID,

Hi
This is the second time around for restore problems. I need to do a full
restore and am having problems building the tar file. I am no longer
willing to fool with the command line method. I spent days trying to get
things to work. I don't have time to fiddle with it any more. I find the

to the computer shutdown, so that when a user turns off the computer, it
first performs the backup and then shuts down?
Would it be reasonable to do the backups during lunch, using backuppc's
blackout periods?
There may

Until now I was backing up my servers with BackupPC, everything was
fine, powerful machines, backup at night, life is beautiful.
Today I started to backup my users Windows computer via Rsyncd and
complaints started to arrive. Less powerful machines starting to get
old, machines getting slo
Dear all,
For reference on the matter I was trying to resolve or improve, I have
increased RAM from 2Gb to 4Gb (the max for that machine) and backups reduced by
50% in completion time.
I had wrongly assessed in the past that it was taking 10 days to complete a
full backup, when it actually too
