BackupPC of course has no idea what you want to restore... and it
really is up to you what you want to restore.
Once you know what you want to restore (based on your own knowledge or
perhaps Google to find out what directories make sense to restore),
then you just select the desired files

To be clear, you don't really need to add '--delete' as it is one of

Rather, please don't delete parameters that you don't understand or

Yes, you do need to add --delete. See e.g. here for the default rsync
parameters:

Let's try that again.... :)
What version of BackupPC are you using, and was it installed from a
package or did you install it manually for example from some tarball?
If the latter, please tell us what it was and wh
at of configure.pl, presumably the script which
reads config.pl.
Ah, yes, you're quite right. Apologies for my inexcusable carelessness.

I suggest trying to recreate this by running 'rsync' manually using as
similar options to backuppc as possible. You can see the options by
running 'ps' while backuppc is running. Also try to use the same rsync
version as backuppc is using.
This way you should be able to

in places I'm going to have make some assumptions.
I think there are four possibilities, I'd attack them in this order:
1. A hardware problem.
2. Something caused entirely by the BackupPC config.
3. Something caused entirely by the machine being
for the
same host.

Aside from the obvious issue, it says 111 hosts when I only have 37?

I just decided to backup the entire /etc directory for sake of time spent
trying to figure out how to backup only select files.
