Are you restoring on the same server you got the backup?
If not, you should have to keep the uid and gid across all servers to have
the same user and group mapping when copying files preserving ownerships.

Create a off-site pool and create a copy job.
The bacula will need off-site tapes only when the backups was pruned/purged
from local tapes.

You need only one Full backup.
I should create a copy job to create off site media. The off site media
(copy create by job copy) will be needed only when the primary copy is not
available.

No, you dont need software compression to save space on LTO drive.
LTO drives are hardware compression enabled.
You will need software compression only for file based volumes.

bacula does not support copy and migration jobs between two storages
daemons, but I have a workaround to this: configure you target sd with a
same name device on source sd and mount it with nfs.
Start a copy or migration job and observe logs.

Yout don't need two jobs to do this.
You should create two pools: one for Full backups and other to Incremental
backups.
To each pool you can apply different retention periods.

Verify this executing list volumes and check retention.
The retention period is not updated automaticaly to volumes created before
configuration on pool resource.

Hi all,
Before the director crashes, after I started up again, a message Too many
open files is displayed.
I seted up the ulimit for the bacula user into /etc/security/limits.conf. I
already set up the /proc/sys/fs/file-max to 100 and the error persists.

entire chain of backup (FDIII...)?
Maybe you full backup has already expired and the media has been recycled.

I think the attribute Recycle Oldest Volume = yes is not working properly.
Why the directory has recicled the media named Cofre-06 if the media
Cofre-02 has attribute LastWriten oldest?

I do it at last 31th december.
I created a Full backup (VirtualFull) to a tape and purged the volume. But,
you should not to do differential ou incremental backups between you full
and purge.
You can use bscan to repopulate the catalog again if you need.

you can generate your own rpm files.
Get the src.rpm file available on download session on bacula website and
follow as below:
for x86
rpmbuild --rebuild --define build_rhel5=1 --define build_mysql=1
bacula-5.0.3-*x*.src.rpm

How many GB you have on spock host?
You difined maximum volume size with 1GB and only one use for each volume,
then if the backup of spock host exceed 1GB other volumes will be created.
If you want keep the job on single volume you should remove the maximum
volume size definition.
I prefer bconsole.
Select 5 or 6.
Browse into directory and select then with mark command (Ex: mark /home, or
mark C:/Directory)
Enter "done" when done.
Confirm with yes
