Thank you Chris. That will give me a lot to chew on. I was using the
Apple-wide dictionary (since my additions were acceptable in programs
other than BBEdit), thank goodness — didn't even know the old BBEdit
had its own; and did find the old and new files. I just can't seem to
port the old one and

Hey
Scope out the AutoCorrect Tab of the TypeIt4Me prefs.
Problem isn't that I mistype tons of stuff requiring correction; but
rather that the stuff that I type has a lot of non-standard stuff in
it: basic text may be in English but full of citations in various
other languages, and lots of unusual

Ok then, but what does that have to do with my option to not have

It sure seems like you are assuming that 30% is all money that Barebones loses,
and that
Steve,
Have you seen the section on Syntax Coloring on p. 212 of the Manual?
Make sure that Syntax Coloring is checked in the Editor Defaults
preference pane. If the built-in c and php coloring doesn't color
personally defined variables, then I doubt that it's a do-it-yourself
project.

I think the other aspect to consider is opportunity cost. Putting apps
on the app store open the product to a larger market. Is Barebones
losing 30% (or whatever considering their own cost for credit card
charges etc.) or are they gaining that 70% they never would have had?

Just in case there is confusion here, there is no debate on my part whether
it is a well made business decision regarding market opportunity and
visibility to use the Apple store or any other distribution means. Simply
that I can pay them (notice the quotes please) directly or thru a third

I would like to know if it's possible to open an html document in a

Isn't that what preview is all about?
But I always have a bbedit worksheet open and there it's trivial:
open -a Safari path_to_file
And it's OK to have
From the Markup menu, at the bottom there's a Preview in that will
list your browsers (configurable from Preferences). You can also
assign a keyboard shortcut for it if you want from Preferences.

Kind of an interesting topic. I remember it being discussed several months ago.
I certainly don't have any argument with any of the suppositions about what
Bare Bones business plan is or isn't. Or any argument with how people chose to
buy and update their Bare Bones products.
It might be more
Thank you Steve,
That was helpful. My User Defined Variables are the same color as the
brackets, parentheses, ect,. but I can live with that. Turns out you
have to
set the colors in both the language and the 'text color' preferences.
Again, thank you
Steve
