This is probably a really basic question on the Notes feature in Bbedit,
but do they sync between devices? I started using and took some notes on my
desktop. When I went to my laptop, I expected to see the same notes but did
not. Perhaps something in my setup?

I noticed the copyright on the bottom of the Barebones site wasn't updated
for 2022 yet which made me realize BBedit turns 30 this year! How about
some cake with the next update? :-)

I'm not sure what "features" of Mojave are required, but Mojave 10.14.2 is
REQUIRED to run BBedit 13. It's possible there are underlying API calls
that have been updated etc. That being said, with Catalina now out, it's
probably safe to move to Mojave if you have been worried about bugs etc. I

You're right. BBEdit Light softens the background just a little.

Good point. The light mode is a little muted and looks good.

Ok, this isn't a request for support or anything but more of a curiosity.
Am I the only person in the world that likes the classic light BBedit mode
instead of a Dark Theme?

A couple questions on the App store version of BBedit.
1. When will it be available? (not critical as I have 12 from Barebones
site. More for reference).
2. Will there be limitations just as editing system files?
Finally, and I almost hate to ask as subscriptions are really starting to
annoy

I think I found the problem. The page was a sample and there were errors in

Sorry Barbara. Hit Post before I finished. I switched back to index.md (the
dirty file) and the dot remained even though it was the front (active)
document. i.e. it didn't switch the the checkmark like your example.

Thanks Chris. More elegant than my solution. It does pad more spaces before
the equals than I would like but there may be options in the column to
adjust this.

It's been a while since I've used BBedit as I'm a fairly heavy vim user due

One of the plugins for vim I loved was Align. I used it to keep assignment

I think I figured this out. It looks like the Bbedit clippings don't get

Really basic getting started question. So I have a simple php file like
below and start to type an "if" statement. I expect the clippings to show
an option to complete the if (the file type is showing "PHP in HTML") but I
have no option. I started creating my own clippings but this seems so
Completely agree Roland. As BBedit is an important tool for me, I
follow their website and this group so I was well aware of the change
required for the App store. Personally, I chose to buy from the App
store anyway because the ease of updating, especially for a new

A shell script might work for you with a little sed. Here's a quick
hack I use. I would test on some sample areas before doing anything
important though. Assume you have a bunch of html files and want to
change the word old to new. You would do this:
sar old new *.html
the quotes are needed.
I think the other aspect to consider is opportunity cost. Putting apps
on the app store open the product to a larger market. Is Barebones
losing 30% (or whatever considering their own cost for credit card
charges etc.) or are they gaining that 70% they never would have had?

BBedit is an awesome tool but if it didn't exist, you would become
proficient in another editor. I don't have the option of BBedit at
work because we mostly work with Linux so I've gotten good with vi.
I've seen experts in vi that do amazing things. The key is to take the
tool you like and learn
That's a bummer you won't get the upgrade notice if you already
purchased but if Barebones has an upgrade price for version 10 we can
buy through the app store, you'll get in sync at that point.
