Not a solution to just not do it. What an absurd thing to say. I am
not clicking a line number, I am clicking in the left margin, which
USED to just select the line to the right of the cursor.

I searched as well. Dennis pointed out that the option to select a
line is now a setting in the preferences. The way to select a line has
always been to option click the left margin, until now.
