Normally BBEdit skips lines in a document when it (thinks it's code?)
Sometimes I need it to spellcheck lines which are code.
I think I can make this happen if I change the file's "type" from the menu
at the bottom (eg changing from "Unix Shell Script" to "none") but that
also removes helpful col
I get a lot of tabular text data I need to edit on a regular basis.
Excel mungs the data, where BBEdit just works.
However, I frequently need to sort the lines by the second/third/etc
column, as defined by tabs in between the columns.

Paste the information into a document, select-all
then choose Show Fonts (Command T) and at the bottom you can set your tab
width.
I use this ALL the time, BBEdit is so far superior than Excel or Numbers, for

Resurrecting this old thread of mine, what would the syntax be to sort by a
specific column, regardless of content..
So, sort on column 8, etc.

I use the Windows palette, and close/reopen it was needed.
