Personally, I don't feel 7.0 is ready for my living room setup yet, but
I use it on my development machine and most things work as they should.
I hope you've filed all the outstanding issues as bugs?

Congrats, Phil! Best wishes to you, your wife and baby.
Thanks.
I'm looking through the wiki page for 7.0 plugins now - there's quite a bit of
info in there to read through, but I think that my plugin won't need too much
work to get going, so hopefully I can squeeze the changes in.

On that same wiki page, someone (I forget who) posted a link to their
subversion machine, so you can see the diff between the 6.5.x and 7.0
versions of a plugin.
I found this invaluable when migrating LiveDepartures to be v7.0
compatible.
I still have some issues to iron out (mainly to do with

Set debug level for os.paths to debug, try to enable the wma conversion.
Then open the debug log.
The log should show all the paths that SC looked for wmadec.

Thanks for response bpa.
I've enabled os.paths and tried to enable wma-wav but, it seems that

It looks like something else may be going on.
Usually filetypes cannot be enabled because SC checks for the binary
and when it can't find the binary it marks it as disabled.
So if you change a format from disabled to say wmadec - SC will go

Woke up this morning to a dark Squeezebox v2.
Checked Slimcenter latest nightly and re-updated. Still no joy.
Perpetual message '2007-10-08 08:26:03 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.'
in server.log
Ideas? Was hesitant to make the $Bin to /etc changes without the full
go-ahead.

I just installed nightly 8oct on an XP system and I got the same error.
It seems to be broken on all conversions - if you try to change them..
Interesting - if I change the last Windows media entry from disabled to
native - it tell me I'm missing a binary as well !

I got them all back enabled by deleting server.prefs and starting
again.
I think my wma conversions were inadvertently disabled somewhere along
the line and could not be restored.
Looks like the File Type Settings change/enable process is the problem.

Deleting the prefs file only allows you to recover disabled formats.
It is still not possible to re-enable disabled formats in File Type
settings.

I suppose I will wait for you to fix the .deb build.

I've gone back to rev 12000 (about 4 months) and this bug (disable a
format and then can't re-enable) is still there (assuming my use of svn
is OK)
It looks like it is not due to an update so I should look at the code.

I rebuilt the deb and it now includes our CPAN dir and removes a bunch
of dependencies on Perl modules. Give it a try. Non-x86 systems may
have a problem with this build but I think they have always had to
manually build some Perl modules.
