I had something similar on Linux. I did a clean install and went through
the setup wizard, and when it did the initial scan all it scanned were
the playlist folders. I then went into setup and reset the music folder
and hit rescan - this time it found everything.

It's interesting, I have the latest 7.4 on my test server and it's OK,
apart from the seemingly random CPU spikes from mysql. I haven't tried a
rescan though, it's happily using an older db. Maybe I won't push my
luck :)

off (to get back to the old behavior) then the
scanner won't run at all (says that no music library is configured,
which is obviously not true). I can keep clicking the wipe rescan
option but nothing happens.

users also don't have an existing MySQL instance on those boxes. Most
are sharing with iTunes, Outlook, Firefox, IE etc. Saving memory (in
most cases a significant amount) is good.

in hex but limit the byte values like that? The
point is I can enter more entropy in less characters using ascii
compared to raw hex, which means less typing, which makes me a happy
radish. It would be even better with unicode but the scrolly wheel
interface quickly becomes difficult!

I leave mine on. Not only does it do other useful things
(file/print/backup server) but the power savings are pretty
insignificant - particularly when offset against the greatly increased
hardware stress with all that power cycling.

screwed up.
