Yes there was a grey morph Gyrfalcon seen briefly by a local couple at the
Vollmer Centre pond in Lasalle near Windsor on December 27. It was identified
at the time as a Peregrine Falcon due to its tricky plumage, but later
identified as a Gyrfalcon by Facebook users. It has not been
I heard this report unofficially. Can anyone confirm this?

The 8th Collingwood CBC was held on 28 December 2015. It was mostly cloudy,
windy (to 40 km/hr), around -10o C, with little snow cover. Nearly all water
was still open, with swells on Georgian Bay.
Fifteen birders tallied 55 species for the day, which was about three species

The 3rd Rice Lake Plains Christmas Bird Count took place on Friday, January 1,
2016. Twenty-eight field observers and 8 feeder counters tallied 7,566 birds of
51 species. This was the highest individual total ever, but was 1 less than the
record species total of 52
Christine Trudeau and I were at the site (SW end of Dalkeith) late this
afternoon and did not see the bird. The people living adjacent to the site told
us that the oriole had been ''rescued'' last night.
We have no more details. If anyone has more information, please share with this
group.
