A group of us are currently looking at two Snowy Egrets in Big Creek.
The birds are visible from the bridge near the intersection of Creek Rd and
Meloche Rd in the town of Amherstburg.

Though one is never comfortable with reporting such a rarity I just want to
explain "distinctive" flight call. Comparing it to the usual suspect around
here the Semi-Palmated Plover, the 2 syllables of the call were of similar
pitch and just slightly slower as if the bird was not excited.
At 5:15 pm today, Bonnie and I had a Common Ringed Plover fly past us on the
9th floor. Confirmed by its distinctive flight call. I damn near fell off the
balcony to our surprise when we heard it call. I know everyone is in Toronto
looking at a different one as we speak. This bird flew from
I suspect that many of you are TTP in Toronto but if you're not Nonquon
continues to produce good birds.. Baird's Sandpipers join the melee today

posting this 3 p.m. Common Ringed Plov update from volunteer TRCA staff. It
was actively feeding on the small islands in Cell 2. The park is open from
4:00 p.m. to 9.

PM while birding with Jim Watt and Rob Buchanan, 3 RN Phalaropes were found at
Tollgate Pond, Hamilton. Went to get some folks at Windermere and showed the
birds to them. also be on the lookout for a Leucistic DC
