There I was sitting on top of Hawk Hill not exactly feeling sorry for myself
because, well, it was a beautiful day to be outside doing anything but because
of the "good" weather I despaired of seeing very many raptors. That, by the

Pending a shift in the recent weather patterns, there has been
relatively little bird migration at Presqu'ile Provincial Park in the
past week. There are still plenty of migrants and other birds around,
but what one sees on any given day is much the same as on previous days.

Today at the parking lot at the visitor ctr there were kettles of Turkey
Vultures along with Red Tails Red Shoulder hawks along with two Peregrine
Falcons. TV'S numbers were over 300 +. None appeared to migrate west.
Parking lot at Point Pelee visitor ctr at 1:30 bird time. Hopefully with
Holiday Beach Conservation Area

Black Vulture
John Crosby, who illustrated The Birds of Canada (1966, 1986), passed away
peacefully in Ottawa on 3 October 2016 at the age of 91. John learned
birding and sketching as a youngster in Toronto. He frequented the Royal
