Something has suddenly scrambled my actions. With the Calculator Plugin (which I use very frequently) enabled, objects such as applications and text files get "Calculate" as the top choice action. Which of course makes no sense, besides the fact that Calculate is only supposed to become

I see several old posts explaining that the Dictionary plugin of yore broke many years ago, which explains why it does not appear in my Quicksilver's list of available plugins. And yet, the Plugin Repository lists the Dictionary plugin as having been updated

I use both "Filter Catalog" and "Snap to Best" search modes, and in fact I find Quicksilver fabulously clever in automatically choosing the mode I want, in ways that I don't fully understand. However, those modes only change the way that the results are presented, not which items are matched

force consecutive characters?

2023-01-17 Thread James McLean
I know that a big part of the power of Quicksilver is that while looking for something, the letters you type don't need to be consecutive in the target. However, sometimes I know a set of consecutive letters in my target, and Quicksilver can't find what I want because it doesn't know that.

Well, this is strange. When I posted my question, it seemed to be happening consistently. Now, I I've tried to reproduce about 8 times, and only saw the problem once. This includes several times NOT seeing the problem upon a restart with all permissions for Quicksilver REMOVED! So, I guess

Re: Catalog empty after restart

Thanks for the good thought. Full Disk Access especially seems like a good thing to give Quicksilver. However, those have not solved my problem. My guess is that the core problem is that Catalog scans never happen. I have Rescan set to "Every 10 min", but I just waited 90 minutes with zero

The problem only occurs with the plugin loaded, and doesn't occur if the plugin is not loaded. So it is clearly not *just* Word looking at the clipboard. On the other hand, the form of the bookmark name (OLE_LINK#) is a form that appears to come from Microsoft, since it can be seen in other

Shelf plugin causes rogue Bookmarks in MS Word

2017-01-13 Thread mclean
I've discovered that when I have the Shelf plugin loaded, even if I don't use it, then every time I take a "Copy" action in Microsoft Word, two new Word Bookmarks are created on the copied document items, named OLE_LINK#. (# is a number that increments.) This makes a mess of my MS Word
