…and it happened again when updating to QS 1.3.3.
…and same solution.

Re: 1.3.0 only English language app names

2015-10-25 Thread Daniel Persson
It happened again when updating QS. This surely is a bug?

Steps to make it work again this time:
Quit QS.
Revert to Swedish in the Terminal: defaults write com.blacktree.Quicksilver
AppleLanguages -array Swedish
Clear QS caches.
Restart QS.
Quit QS.
Re-revert to English in the Terminal: defaults write
com.blacktree.Quicksilver AppleLanguages -array English

Re: 1.3.0 only English language app names

2015-09-05 Thread Daniel Persson
Solution:

Revert to Swedish in the Terminal:
defaults write com.blacktree.Quicksilver AppleLanguages -array Swedish

Re-revert to English in the Terminal:
defaults write com.blacktree.Quicksilver AppleLanguages -array English

Throw in a couple of quits and restarts of QS, and some cache-clearing and
re-scans ;)

Thanks for the help! I was a bit lazy and/or stupid not to try this
reverting thing full circle until now.

Re: 1.3.0 only English language app names

2015-08-24 Thread Daniel Persson
Yup, replacing English for Swedish and running this (from the wiki FAQ)
in the Terminal, made Swedish app and folder names work again:

defaults write com.blacktree.Quicksilver AppleLanguages -array English

Obviously, now QS also have commands and actions localised too, which is
not desirable.

I want to keep QS in English for two reasons:

* Localisation (at least for Swedish) is spotty and forces me to switch
language midway through commands. In localised QS it is kopiera for
copy, but compose to compose a new mail, instead of Swedish
komponera. So instead of acting without thinking, it is a lot of thinking
before acting.

* A lot of pro level software is not localised to Swedish, so a lot of
common commands are simply more used in English than in Swedish, even on a
localised system.

Is there a solution to this? Before 1.3.0 it worked perfectly: Everything
inside QS was in English, everything that QS interpreted from the file
system was in the language set in the OS.

Patrick, when we switched to using NSURL stuff, are also using that to grab
 names?

Yes, but we’re definitely set to get the localised name:

I’m unsure as to why this might be happening. You see the right names in Finder
yes? Have you tried clearing your Quicksilver caches and re-scanning?

Seeing the right names in Finder. Tried clearing the caches and rescanned,

What happens if you reverse the steps you took to get the actions in English.
That may well be why you’re seeing the files in English. If you revert QS to
use your system language, and clear your caches, what happens then?
