I think for builds with a prefix other than /usr, it would
 be better to
just add all three of the paths to the end and force a cache
 update in
 the configuration section (using 'cat
 /etc/mandb.conf EOF'
syntax). It should be tested by somebody who uses something
 other than
/usr as the installation prefix. I'm still of the mind to
 completely
drop the alternate prefix business for everything (the wiki
 is the place
for differing opinions), but others seem to still want and
 use it, so it
should stay as long as somebody is keeping an eye on it for
 breakage. I
generally do keep it in mind, but only to a minimum as I do
 not actually
test in an alternate prefix. Also, does mandb.conf support a

source/include directive? Best would be to use the mandb.d/*
 method if
 supported.

My apologies for the noise and the time lost due to this thread, DJ, Armin,
all.

I install X in /usr, so never had to read past

If you've decided to use the standard /usr prefix, you can omit the
remainder of this page.

in Introduction to Xorg-* page.

This time, I tried to do things quickly, because what I wanted was to
check sane/xsane for LFS7,2, and so, my eyes were caught by that sed and
I forgot sentence above.

2012-11-03 Thread Fernando de Oliveira
It took a very long time for this message to appear in the list. This delay has
been happening since some days ago.

Thus, I am building Xorg without the modifications I am asking about below,
still replies would be much appreciated.

It was the dj that upgraded Xorg last time. I only upgraded MesaLib, so
I can't be of any help here. I install Xorg into /usr, I don't use
instructions from the book. I have my own ways of building and/or
upgrading Xorg.

As for the mail delays, I've noticed it too. Sometimes it takes about an
hour or so for mails to appear in my inbox.
