If memory serves NTFS is better at maximizing hard drive space because of the
smaller cluster size there for limiting wasted space. If this could be
confirmed by somebody out there I would appreciate it.

this brings up another question. Is it possible to reformat a flash drive
to ntfs in stead of the default fat32. I own no mack, so I don't care about
compattability. I can format the drive, but in the dialog, it says that the
filetype is fat32, and doesn't seem to be changeable.

Yes NTFS should be the choice, aside from space efficiency
security is better with ntfs and usually makes a more stable
system.

a standard 4 gig drive can't be formatted to ntfs, however I believe
anything above 32 gigs may be able to be made into an ntfs system.

Windows 95, 98 and ME cannot recognize NTFS, all newer ones
can. Also FAT and FAT32 volumes can be converted to NTFS
volumes. NTFS cannot be converted to FAT32 without
reformatting the drive.

Hi Dan,
Yes it is possible to reformat a FAT32 format to a NTFS format. The steps
are below along with a website link for future reference.
If you plan to download files to your flash drive that are larger than 4gb,
you need to reformat it to NTFS, instructions for which can be found on the
Hi Dan,
Thank you for your response. Once you get into properties you route the
Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, then press the key combination of control +
Home to take the cursor to the top of the page, then arrow down 1 line at a
time and Jaws will read you all the info. Take care.

Hi.
thanks much for that info. I have reformatted that drive and will probably
do it with another that I have but first I need to move the stuff off it
temporarily.

Well, my email is still a Gmail.com and I am using the webmail, so no.
Still 100% accessible.
Nothing has changed.
What makes you say it has become enaccessible?

If you find the newer gmail harder to use with JAWS, which, by the way, I
do, click on older version and then click on basic html. The resulting
page will be very accessible with JAWS.

Hello everyone,
I am trying to open a password protected .pdf file. I know for sure that I am
typing in the correct password, but I keep getting a warning that there has
been a protection failure.
Does this mean I have some kind of setting wrong in Adobe?
I am using Acrobat Reader 9, XP Pro
No but just for grins and giggles, I might throw Firefox at it and see what
comes up. I don't think I've ever tried that with gmail.
