Re: [blind-gamers] A Hero's quest question on the massive tree

2019-05-07 Thread Paul Lemm
Hi sly,

Some spoilers ahead.

you should be able to check if there is another quest in the tree by going to
your quest log, if there is another quest it will be mentioned in here. I'm
almost sure there is at least one other quest, dependant on what you've already
completed in there. It sounds like the one you may still have to do in there
involves you having to go in and clear the blockages to heal the tree. I don't
think I got the tool from the shop, but if you have Gwen in your party I
believe each time you encounter the blockage she will say something and it will
ask you if you want Gwen to use fire magic to remove the vines/blockage if she
is in your party. I could be wrong but I think there are 3 blockages you need
to remove/clear. I can't remember what you actually get for removing the
blockages, but I don't think the quest is essential to the main game storyline
, so I think it’s a bit like a side quest and it's up to you whether you want
to do it or not. Again, though it's been a long time since I've played so I
could be wrong on my above points. As for your question about the map, I'm not
sure if you can actually place beacons whilst viewing the map, it wasn't
something I tried in game since I mainly used the map to help with navigation
if I got really lost.

Greetings
I have surfaced from the Big tree successful on my mission.
Yea and Thanks to Paul and Phoebe for the help.
You were right too Phoebe , holy warrior was unlocked as soon as I visited the
final shrine.
Now my question is , Is that the end of the forest quest?
I see that I have the item I purchased from the store to clear the blockage
somewhere in the tree but am unable to find it yet, any clues welcome.
I took the sample of the tree to lord adreiounous so I will wait for that to
play out but wondered if that was it for the forest quest?
I still need to finish up the mine & graveyard quest of course but I figured I
should wrap up the forest stuff first.
Also the map, so you can see locations that you have not discovered yet?
I am guessing that from what you guys say you can move around the map using the
arrow keys to find locations and then mark and use the beacon to get to them?
I have not used the map yet really so am not sure of how it works exactly.

Thanks again for all the tips, it's really been a Great help.
Thanks and Game On! Sly

It has also been a long time since I played this. I believe the order
of pages in the book is different for different players, so the answer
to the dial will be different for everyone.

My copy of the book has the following page order:
To all that’s living... refers to a river Though small in size...
refers to a seed Tiny worker... refers to a bee If I am gone... refers
to the sun As I reach... refers to a tree

Sly,
I actually didn’t find out that I could turn pages in books until the very end
of my first game. The first time I got to the giant tree, I accidentally
guessed the correct sequence on my first try. I only figured out the book was a
clue when the sequence had changed for my second game.
If I remember correctly, you can find the ancient shrine in the forest by
following the ancient road east and south.
The map is very useful when navigating the rings of the tree. You can always
get your coordinates from the map. Also, I think it is easier to navigate using
the map because you don't have to worry about battles. You can find where you
want to go using the map and put a beacon there. Then, get walking directions
from the beacon.
I think you unlock holy warrior by completing the quest with the shrines, but
again, it’s been a while since I played this, and I could be wrong.

Re: [blind-gamers] A Hero's quest question on the massive tree

2019-05-01 Thread Phoebe Harris
Sly,
I actually didn’t find out that I could turn pages in books until the
very end of my first game. The first time I got to the giant tree, I
accidentally guessed the correct sequence on my first try. I only
figured out the book was a clue when the sequence had changed for my
second game.
If I remember correctly, you can find the ancient shrine in the forest
by following the ancient road east and south.
The map is very useful when navigating the rings of the tree. You can
always get your coordinates from the map. Also, I think it is easier
to navigate using the map because you don't have to worry about
battles. You can find where you want to go using the map and put a
beacon there. Then, get walking directions from the beacon.
I think you unlock holy warrior by completing the quest with the
shrines, but again, it’s been a while since I played this, and I could
be wrong.

Greetings!
Thanks Paul and Phoebe for your help.
I got it now.
My book was pretty much the same but it was important to know that I
had to turn the pages LOL!
That little detail escaped me till you guys posted.
Now to figure out the rings in the tree. LOL!
One last question for you Paul, you mentioned using the map to find
the last shrine I need to have my priest pray at.
Never used the map so am not sure how it works.
I thought you could not see locations on the map until you discovered
them? or is this not true.
I have roamed the bluffs, high ridges, windy bluff, deer trail ETC but
no shrine.
I will eventualy stumble across it so your tip about the south easturn
area of the first deep woods area at least gives me an idea where to
search.
Again Thanks for all the help, this game is Really a lot of fun.
I have over a hundred hours invested in it so far.
Hay Lastly any clue on how to acheave the Holy Worrier status with the priest?
I am level 45 but every time I go to raise the light of purity skill
it says I need to unlock holy warrior.
Any way, enough dribble from me LOL back to the game.
Thanks again guys for your help.
Later! Sly

Hi Phoebe,

I didn't realise the page order was different for each player, that’s a clever
little mechanic from out of sight games making it a little different for each
person. Thanks for mentioning that though and giving the riddles answers, as
otherwise not only would my answers have been really wrong, but probably been
really confusing as to how I got those answers hahaha.

2019-04-30 Thread Paul Lemm
Hi Sly,

Spoilers below:

I haven't played this for a while, so I can't remember the exact answer, from
memory though there are five dials on the tree you need to set correctly to
solve the puzzle. The book has five pages, each page gives the answer in the
form of a riddle to each of the five dials on the tree. I can't remember the
exact answer and can't remember what each of the options on the tree are, but
I've just taken a look at the book, I think page one is an acorn, page two a
tree, page three water, page four a bee and page five the sun. and they should
be your answers, although again like I said I can't remember exactly what the
options on the tree were so my answers could be wrong, if that doesn't work let
me know what each option is on the puzzle and I should be able to work out the
answer if my above one is incorrect. As for the temple to pray at , again its
been a long time since I played but I'm pretty sure it's on the first deep
wood map (the one you first enter when coming to deep wood from the town), I'm
pretty sure it's over in the south eastern part of the map

Head north until you come to an intersection where the game actually announces
Intersection. At that intersection turn East, or you can simply sidestep east
while continuing to face north. This latter method is actually easier for me
when I’m looking for someplace specific. Since you’ll still be facing north the
game will announce anything in front of you. The professor’s house is the
second house, the first being Wilhelm’s. If you’re still facing north the game
will announce each house as you step east.
