Larry, Great questions. If you figure anything out, let me know. *GRIN* For leveling a 24 foot long ledger, I don't know of any way to do that super accurately and accessible. You could use a four foot audible level and just keep moving it around, probably not the most accurate or easiest

I'm sure I've seen messages about this before, but can somebody point me to a reliable easy-to-use carpenter's level. I bought one from the NFB folks and it and I have just never bonded well at all. Everytime I want to use it, either the batteries are dead or I can't get the thing to turn on,
