Dale,
This might be silly, and more work than is necessary, but could you run a
wide plank through your table saw on edge, flip it, run it through on the
opposite edge. That wouldn't get you all the way through the plank, but
it might help the band saw to track better as it cuts through the
good, some real facts rather than hysteria. I did know these bulbs
weren't to be put in the land fill, we have a box of em somewhere to be recycled
Glad to find out that OSH will take them as our local county center is
inaccessible by pub trans.

Max you need to lift the building up a few inches and suspend it so that the
floor is sitting there all by itself and when you are done putting down the
flooring then lower the building back down onto the floor and you are good
to go.

Dale. If you worked in from the edges, somewhere in the middle you would
have to fit in 3 sides. That would be totally impossible not almost
impossible as it is with 2 sides. You have to tilt up the one you are
installing, lock into the one that is there and lower it down. Then you
have to
Darn. Why didn't I think of that?

One question, why a serial port? Most computers today are usb or fire wire.

Surely there is a more convenient and economical way of doing this

This got a few snickers from me. Especially the one that said you can

Right. Then scream like a banshee when you rip all the hair out of the

Hi Dan,
Could be, I know that it was suggested in one article I did read but more as a
means of preserving your blade. Since I don't have a band saw to try this with

You don't work in from the edges to the middle, just a few rows. This allows
you to shift the remaining couple of courses but keeps you away from one wall.
By floating I meant you to understand that you don't fit the floor tight to the
walls.
Still, I am surprised to hear that you had to apply
I have a digital camera that plugs into the USB port. I have seen others.
The other end of the cable is a tiny version of the USB connector. I don't
know if the little end has been standardized yet or if each manufacturer
uses their own standard.

The flooring was in the building over a week end before being installed.
Yes, it takes a lot of force to make the short edges go together.

The Client end of the USB cables have not been standardized. I only know
this because my Wife has a Digital Camera and a digital cam corder and we
have a all in one office machine and all three of them have a different type
client end. That would be nice if they did standerdise them, and some
I think we had this discussion before but I am looking at getting an
uninteruptable power system to plug my computer into. It does not need to
have much run time. The only reason that I am thinking about getting one is
that where we live the power tends to cut off for a few seconds and then

I picked up a little pack including a so-called USB A to A cable
and a set of adaptors from USB A to several things. This was at a local
Big Lots store and didn't cost more than a few bucks.
Anybody tells you not to use cheap USB cables, unless over a very long
distance, is nuts, cheapies work
Max,
Did you purchase or rent the install kit? When I did the kitchen floor I
purchased the kit. It included 1/4 spacers for around the perimeter and a
bent bar close to a Z shape. for the ends when you align you put one end of
the bar against the flooring section and then whack the other with

Max,
there about 4 standard connectors.
That means your camera has an USB client port and the

The only good thing about standards is that there are so many
