A couple of weeks ago we were trying to piece together some of the history of
the National Championships. Not for the first time there was a call to document
some of our history.
I don't know much about creating an archive etc. but am fortunate enough to
work at Warwick University,
Alex may have 7 consecutive titles and RV 10, but STAN probably lost 7
consecutive finals, and do you hear us bragging about it??
Hombres had 5 consecutive titles from 89 to 93

(with German ringers - lest we forget!!)
1990 Hombres beat STAN at Newport

Back in 1985 the Warwick Indoors was the most prestigious indoor tournament in
Britain, and the Bears won a famous victory over the Battersea Boleros. Twenty
years on they re-formed for the same tournament. Would they rock, or would they

On the subject of sports calendars - the company that claims to have the most
comprehensive calendar of events together with media rights and sponsorship etc is
sportcal. It's a subscription site to view the details but the listing might be free.
Worth investigating anyway.
