gcc has the missing functions built in, although I don't know yet if this
includes gcc 4.7. A failed conftest doesn't mean there's no C99, it just means
it needs to use builtin intead of libc I think.

Hi,
The workaround available is disabling IO APIC in the loader. Adding this line
to /boot/loader.conf
hw.ioapic_enable=0
I'm not sure if we can do anything else on this issue.
