went ahead and put latest -current on servers without any problems, so I'm back to work. The laptop is running an old 6.3 USB I keep around for connecting to a Java KVM (haven't needed, but I keep it anyway). I'm just mounting relevant partitions from main hard drive also. Chris Bennett

g hardware problem. I have full access to the hard drive, is there anything else useful I can pull off of it before trying a newer snapshot? I also moved the swap file to different disk sectors. it was due to being a POC. Had a very short lifetime. I'm using a second one. It's very picky about how I connect it over USB. Some connections work, others don't.
