Mark, If you are worried about mast interaction you might extend your mast with a short 2 to 4 feet of wood/fiberglass/pvc dowel and place the balun at the top of it. Since you already have a strong mast in place, an extension might be the way to go. The dowel, properly sized OD , will slide

I second what Rick says. Be advised most readily available PVC is subject to UV degradation and will get brittle with time. Some PVC (like that used in deck furniture) is UV resistant. Fiberglass works, but will also degrade unless it's treated or you paint it. Gus K5GMB On Mon, Oct 25, 2021
