Hello all - I have two dances I've been calling of late, and wanted to verify
they are both original to the best of our collective knowledge. Both have been
satisfying to call and dance, so I also wanted to share them in the hopes that
others might want to call either or both. I'm not including
Its an individuals choice. I see my dances, some published some not as
"folk" to be shared and changed as needed. We are part of that chain. I
choose to pass it along for otherwise it has no real worth.

I've often wondered why dance writers wouldn't want to put their dances out
there for us to use. Yes, one makes a bit of money from the books, but is it
a living? Isn't the more important thing to have your name associated with
your work? Having your dances online, proofed by you, and clearly mark

Hi Jeff,
Given the sensitivity that William expressed to protect the wishes of dance
authors who would prefer to sell their works, would you please consider
removing " contra _dances_caller.doc" from your website ?
This list of dance cards was never meant to be public, and contains many

Jeanette, sorry to further stray from your original question, the

Well, as has happened a number of times, you can post it here and someone
will recognize it. My Caller's Companion database allows you to search your
own entered dances by phrase, for example all dances with a Partner swing in

And if you aren't going to plug it, I will.have called this a
number of times recently, and really like it alot. (I got it from Bob

The band was excited about playing the tune since they
typically have only played this informally, in a jam,
not for a dance. (Steve Rosen is someone familiar to

Sadie and the Back Door seems quite nice, though I'd

Hi, Seth,
Thanks for your feedback on Catfish. I hope you enjoy it.
I have called Sadie at the Back Door in the wild. The hey seems to
flow OK into the circle left. When the gent gets back to the starting
side he loops around and keeps moving into the circle, bringing his
partner along.
