using HXP or HL7.
This will allow you even more freedom.
I know that some ERP here are in fact made in Java and are not at all webed
but plain desktop apps with TCP-IP connectivity. Other apps are using JSP.

This was contributed by a group of developers from Holland. They have
claimed to have used it
in experimental stage and it has supposedly work nicely.
