Hi Donna, I tried both version 5.65 and version 5.616, and neither of them worked. I am using a win7, 64bit. The spec file is Human.PALS_B12.B1-12.DEPTH_ANALYSES_LEFT.73730.spec, which is included with the software. I have uploaded the file as Human.PALS.LEFT.zip. It was on ubuntu Linux. I've heard of problems with Caret's display showing an incomplete/inaccurate surface. Those ended up being corrected by an updated graphics driver. But it sounds like you're not even getting that far. It's just hanging on the load step, with very just a very simple surface. Attached is an even tinier spec using a smaller subset of the same files (single coord topo). Try putting in the same directory as those files and see if the smaller subset loads.
