I was just letting my dogs out, and heard a brief bird song that lasted about 5 seconds. I thought it was a junco trill at first, but I was half asleep so I wasn’t sure. I started “listening” with Merlin in case it sang again, and luckily it did. It was ID as a swamp sparrow, listed as rare

Chris- I concur. With more cloud cover we likely will be able to see the migrants!  I have the feeling that a lot of raptors headed north today and yesterday but with few clouds they probably went unnoticed and were very high up.  The first local broad winged hawks have returned to a couple
