Yesterday afternoon shortly before 5pm I was on the Cayuga Waterfront Trail
where it crosses Fall Creek on a green suspension bridge between the end of
Pier Road and the western corner of Renwick Wildwood. There’s a pole with an
Osprey platform just west of that bridge (it’s not on the Osprey
Had a NASHVILLE WARBLER and a BLUE-HEADED VIREO this afternoon in
Brooktondale, mixed in with the billions of Ruby-crowned Kinglets and
Yellow-rumped Warblers foraging in the mist around our ponds. One
Golden-crowned Kinglet was here yesterday, and a few PINE SISKINS persist.

I was absolutely elated this morning to hear a bluebird singing lustily from
the top perch of my feeder station. That's the first bluebird I've ever seen
in my yard in the four years I've been living in Ellis Hollow. And as I
watched, it flew off to investigate out one of my bluebird houses.
This morning I was happy to welcome back two FOY Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and a
singing Brown Thrasher to my yard West of Mecklenberg. Still hanging around are
R.C.Kinglets and G.C.Kinglets, and a few more Purple Finches. Looks like I've
got to stock up on sunflower seeds!

Yesterday at about 8:30 am I heard our first of the year Baltimore
Oriole song in our backyard. Although it seemed to be flying around
singing & establishing it's territory, I could not see it. Can't tell if
this is particularly early, as every year I see the first male orioles

This morning as I drove by, there was an osprey sitting on the platform
that is just north of hogs hole, but south of the Hangar, right along rt
89. There is often red tail who hunts from that platform but this is the
first time I've seen an osprey on it. It also looked like there was a new
