I COULD be mistaken as always--I don't trust my audio-identifications--
but am pretty sure it was two Prairie Warblers singing (loudly) on or
near Hunt Grove, the dead end just off Hunt Hill Rd off Ellis Hollow Rd.
Nice scales over and over. Doesn't seem like a prairie warbler
habitat, althoug
I took an evening walk out back and profited from my bird song disks by
hearing a brown thrasher and locating it vociferously repeating over the
horse/deer field at the corner of Ellis Hollow Creek road and Turkey Hill

While we've had a single White-throated Sparrow around for at least 2
weeks, today all of a sudden we have at least 6. I kept looking for
White-crowned but no luck so far.
Other yard birds include 8+ Purple Finches, an Eastern Towhee singing
throughout the day it seems, a Red-breasted Nuthatch
In the azalea garden 12;42 a brown thrasher with its left wing hanging low--
possibly injured? I have seen it run and forage but not fly.

I had my first yard Black-throated Green Warbler this morning, very exciting.
Stewart Park is loaded with Yellow-rumped ,Yellow and Palm Warblers this
morning. I was also able to finally find a Green Heron by the carp pool. I
heard one Warbling Vireo but no others.

Spring is happening and a number of local birds are already nesting. I'm hoping
to enlist your help in finding some nests that I can photograph for my upcoming
book about nesting behavior (co-authored with Laura Erickson and slated for
publication Fall 2014).
