Liisa's observation reminded me to post that the Osprey at the Portland Point platform appear to have eggs. I stopped by yesterday (going only as far as I needed to in order to see the nest, as per K. McGowan's warning), and saw one adult sitting down in the nest cup. Didn't take long for them

Today while birding with Ann Mitchell on Portland Point Rd I noticed that the power pole in the Cargill mine complex whichfor the past couple yearsheld Tompkins County's only Osprey nest of which I'm aware now only holds the intended trio of transformers and crossbar with insulators and wires.
