often loud enough to get my dog's attention.

Tonight after I was done with work, I walked the trails at the Audubon Center
between 4:30 and 5 pm. To my extreme pleasure, I got to listen to two
Great-horned Owls counter singing, and it was definitely 1 of each sex (higher
pitch vs lower pitch hooting). Hard to believe as the days are shorte
Spent the last 1/2 hour listening to a pair of great horned owls that have

This morning our SFO group went to Jetty Woods to admire the Great Horned

Today morning I gave one more try to look for Ison, but as usual the clouds
were exactly in the same corner as the comet Ison. I chose to drive to Game
Farm road to get the better view of eastern sky, though it was only slightly
better than from my home. There seems to be no locations in Ithaca
Hi all,
Today morning when I was out at 4.50 am to look for moths, two Great Horned
owls were duetting. I had a feeling that they were very near possibly on my

Two Great Horned Owls were calling back and forth tonight as of about
10:30PM, from the woodlot at the NW corner of the Warren Road/Route 13
intersection. They were quite audible from within the Northwood Apartment
complex, right along the main road that runs through the complex.

This evening around 6:30 after hearing at least one Great Horned owl hooting
nearby, my husband continued calling back until 3 adult owls flew in to
surround our backyard, while a 4th continued to call from a nearby yard. This
is the first time we have sighted more than two at a time here.
