This is a first for the Cayuga Lake Basin, and according to eBird the first NYS record was a single bird one year ago near Saratoga Springs, again migrating north. My bet is it’s one bird and the same one as last year. I’d be happy to be proven wrong with more birds or sightings, and better view

Very cool find! Perhaps this is the same bird who was found last March near Saratoga Springs. Seneca Lake and its drainage are outside the Cayuga Lake Basin, but lands not far to the north of Seneca Lake, including some ag fields along Serven Road are inside the basin. Please check for it there
